Public transport

London has a widespread underground train system, commonly known as ‘the tube’ The network is efficient, fast, easy to use and inexpensive. Tickets can be purchased at any station. It is the quickest method of travelling around the city.

 

If travelling by taxi, it is recommended to always use a black taxi with the amber roof sign as these are officially licensed by Transport for London. There are thousands of black taxis on the street – they are safe and charge strictly metered fares; also the drivers have an extensive knowledge of the city.
